Most calm-corner packs are a handful of pretty posters. They look nice on the wall and do very little at 10:40 on a Tuesday when someone is crying under a table. This pack is built as a routine instead: the child checks in with a feeling, picks one calm-down idea from a board, follows the matching card, checks back in, and returns. Four steps, printed once, taught once — after that, the paper does the reminding and you can keep your voice low and your hands free. It is a system, not a poster set: the feeling a child names at step one is the same face on the 24 emotion cards, the same words on the thermometer, the same choices on the board, and the 8 strategy cards match the board tile for tile — no new learning in the middle of a hard moment. The 8 breathing cards are built around a finger following a path (box, 5-finger, flower & candle, rainbow, triangle, star, lazy-8, wave), because 'take a deep breath' is an instruction small children cannot use yet. Every page comes again in black and white, redrawn as line art. And the pack is consistent throughout that the corner is a choice, never a punishment — the rules poster, the setup guide and the how-to page all use the same line: this place helps you, and nobody is in trouble for going there.
PreK to Grade 5 teachers setting up a calm-down corner from scratch, or replacing a corner that became a time-out chair with better PR. School counsellors who get asked 'have you got anything for feelings?' twice a week. Homeschool parents who want the same routine at home, smaller. Written and drawn for roughly ages 4–11; the check-in, boards and cards are picture-first, so pre-readers can use them.
